Project Schools was launched on 16th July 2012 at the sky-garden premises of Rajah & Tann. The Guest-of-Honour was Ms Sim Ann, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Education.
This initiative by the Law Society of Singapore, sponsored by the Rajah & Tann Foundation, aims to create an awareness of the law, the rights and obligations of youths under the law, and the consequences of juvenile delinquency.
The programme is unique. It is specifically tailored for teachers to deliver lessons on the law in our schools, supporting and reinforcing the Civics and Moral Education curriculum. The lessons address contemporary legal issues students can most identify with, such as cyber-bullying and illegal moneylending. To date, 14 schools have confirmed their participation, impacting over 2,000 students.
