Her areas of practice are corporate and personal insolvencies, corporate rescues and consensual debt restructurings, judicial management, schemes of arrangement, liquidators, banking litigation and advisory work, directors’ duties and shareholders’ disputes.
Poh Ling has acted and advised various parties in a wide range of corporate insolvency and debt restructuring matters, involving both listed and private companies. She regularly advises banks and financial institutions in banking litigation and debt recovery matters. She has also advised on shareholders’ disputes and corporate litigation matters.
Corporate Insolvency, Debt Restructuring & Banking Cases
- Advising a group of creditor banks in relation to a scheme of arrangement proposed by TT International Limited (a company listed on the SGX-ST)
- Advising China Aviation Oil (Singapore) Ltd (a company listed on the SGX-ST) in respect of a debt restructuring exercise via a scheme of arrangement in relation to liabilities amounting to approximately US$550 million
- Advising Financial Advisors/Scheme Managers of Thakral Corporation Ltd (a company listed on the SGX-ST) and its subsidiaries on its debt restructuring (via schemes of arrangements in Singapore and Hong Kong) in relation to S$470 million worth of debts
- Advising Financial Advisors / Scheme Managers in respect of the debt restructuring of Dovechem Holdings Pte Ltd and its subsidiaries by way of schemes of arrangement in relation to approximately S$80 million worth of debt
- Advising the Judicial Managers of Alliance Technology & Development Ltd (“ATD”, a company listed on the SGX-ST), including the implementation of a scheme of arrangement with the shareholders and creditors of ATD and in connection with the listing of Gallant Venture Limited on the SGX-ST
- Advising the Judicial Managers / Liquidators of Fort Canning Country Club Investment Ltd (owner of Fort Canning Country Club)
- Advising the Receivers and Managers of Forward Investment Limited (owner of Crown Prince Hotel, Singapore)
