Rajah & Tann LLP has been ranked as one of the top 30 international arbitration practices in the world, making it four years in a row and the only one of two Asian firms on the prestigious GAR 30 ranking by London-based Global Arbitration Review (GAR), which was released at a ceremony held in Stockholm on 8th March 2012.

The GAR rankings were based on number of cases handled, experience of counsel, size of claims and other qualitative and quantitative criteria. Rajah & Tann reported 46 merit hearings and 89 pending international arbitrations on its book of work with a total portfolio value in excess of US$4.7 billion.

GAR is reputed as the leading news provider of international arbitration practices. Its GAR 30 list is one of the most respected and widely-watched for the international legal fraternity partly because of the rigorous process in which the magazine editors went about collating information for their rankings.

The research process for the 2012 edition of the GAR 100 covered a two-year period and law firms were required to submit responses covering practice aspects including the number of pending arbitrations, the number of completed hearings, the total amount in dispute, the number of arbitrator appointments and the number of prominent individual practitioners.
